It was with utter shock and disbelief, that I had to process the devastating news of Gowry’s most untimely and sad demise. And that
was the sentiment of all who knew her, because she deeply touched the lives and souls of everyone, with her infinitely honest and loyal friendship, care, and extraordinarily nurturing ways.
She was like a mother and sister to many and numerous were the times that she went out of her way to help people, especially those who needed medical care, with her constantly attentive ways. I have heard from my friend Faiza, how truly caring Gowry was to her whenever she was evenmildly ill.
I too personally experienced that when many years back, I had an epileptic seizure in Court and it was Gowry who had come with me, together with Uditha, in the Court Ambulance, to the hospital and I faintly remember that my head was on her lap and she was reassuring me and making sure that I was in the correct posture and not choking. I never ever forgot that and I was and will be eternally grateful to her for that. She had the blessings of so many people in the greatest of abundance but it was her destiny to pass prematurely and tragic as it is, who are we are mortals to question that or even try to understand the complexities of the universe.
My Dear friend Thava, I cannot imagine the loss that you are enduring, but I can only wish for you, the strength of mind and fortitude, with time at least, to come to terms with your immense loss. You can however be comforted that Gowry’s passing is deeply lamented by all of us and that she has left an indelible mark on all our lives and that she is and will be greatly missed.
May the gods bestow upon you, their blessings and guidance always and may our dearest friend Gowry attain Moksha.
With Love always,
