Very often people are respected and honored for the services they have rendered in their lifetime to the society. Mrs. Gowry Shangary Thavarasha was highly respected and admired for her sterling qualities of honesty, forthright words and actions, loyalty and commitment to her professional duty. She spent numerous unrecorded hours and days in her chambers studying the cases and consulting the clients and finding ways and means to find remedies for their grievances. She was endowed with a keen intellectual and brilliant mind and she utilized it for the fullest in the service of her professional career and to help her fellow men. I have known Mrs. Gowry Shangary Thavarasha from the time I started my career as Deputy Registrar of the Supreme Court in 1995. From that time onwards, she came to me whenever she needed my assistance in her professional career. She was always charming compassionate and caring person who gave herself willingly voluntarily and totally to serve the needs of those who sought her assistance. She was readily helping hand to the people in times of need in emergencies and whenever they faced with challenges and then she took very high and keen responsibility in finding ways and means in resolving the problems of them and provide relief however without any expectations in return. She was always enthusiastic and was liked dearly by all her clients, friend, relatives and assistants. Her sudden death has created a great vacuum that it cannot be filled easily by anyone else. It is a great loss at this juncture to the people who are faced with numerous challenges for their survival. The rare phenomenon and greatness in her life was that one can have confidence in their controversial and confidential issues and seek redress, and advice and guidance with full confidence. She has never made any attempt to reveal it to anyone else under any circumstances. She always made use of the pleasing words which made everybody comfortable and confident in her presence. She is a woman with no fear but brave and cheerful. She leaves her beloved husband and her relatives. May His Almighty grant them sufficient courage and strength to overcome the grief and sorrow of the irreparable loss that had been caused by her untimely demise. I can say that with her pleasing smile, her deep sense of optimism, her courtesy and tact, her compassion and kindness, and her unfailing sense of humor , she made this world a better place for all of us.I would like to convey my deepest sympathies to her beloved husband, family members and friends.
