Goddess of Law who Strengthened Democratic Camp

Gowry is the mother of Lord Ganesha in Hindu religious culture. She is one of the manifestations of Goddess Parvathi and the divine
energy, considered as a perfect wife for her husband, Lord Shiva. In the same way Gowry Thavarasha, whose soul now is in heaven,
had been a divine blessing with her expertise and knowledge in lawand socio-politics in this nation. She had been the guiding light and inspiration for many thousands who had no other help in the face of oppression and rendered her assistance and yeoman service to uphold justice. She was certainly the pulse of those fought in the democratic camp to realize principles of justice.

Her courage and inspiration had been the sine qua non force in many struggles that changed the political landscape of this country during the past two decades. She had been the indispensable and essential action, condition, or ingredient in those battles for democracy.

She always stood unconditionally and uncompromisingly for the cause of democracy against dictatorship and rulers’ coercion and fought in support of the leaders of democratic camp. She dedicated her life for the benefit of the oppressed and her legacy is incomparable.

As per my personal experience when entire state machinery was set against me as a part of conspiracy of suppression, she was at the forefront spending her time, money and effort to uphold the rule of law. Gowry Thavarasha fought in the same way for thousands of others who had no means of wherewithal against the mighty and powerful seeking to deprive people of their rights to justice. Before the blindfold Lady of Justice, she had been a force to be reckoned with in upholding the rule of law. In such battles for the rights of man against unjust, she never gave into the sentiments of race, religion or language differences knowing well that the blindfold over the eyes of Lady Justice represents a justice system that is meant to be blind to power, wealth, race, ideology and gender. Gowry rendered her services to the downtrodden and those who suffered under the pressure of jackboots of dictatorship.

Gowry and Thava had been a combination that had been exemplary both in and out the courtrooms. She had always been a strength to Thava and his shadow in his responsibilities.

Today Thava and this nation have lost a great woman. We are witnessing great persons such as Gowry are departing from us daily owing to the pandemic. The loss and void created by her death would be felt in our legal system as well as in the democratic camp for years to come. Her absence would be felt in our battles for justice and righteousness. She was not only an honourable person and a friend but also a courageous comrade in our battles for the cause of democracy. We hereby offer the expression of our condolences to K.V. Thavarasha PC over the loss of your wife.

Gowry you are a woman of courage and strength in your lifelong fight to uphold the rule of law in a country where the rulers at any given chance have always been trying to poke fun at the Lady Justice and principles of the rule of law.
