Gowry, whom I got to know in early 90s’ carried a very charming, charismatic and simple personality. She was much loved and cherished by everyone who knew her. Her Legal chamber where she practiced Law with her husband was in close proximity to mine.
She was the loving wife of Mr. Thavarasha PC. Whom she always addressed “APPA”. They both got on well and were fond of each other. They were a good example for the present day young couples who were keen to maintain a good contended married life.
Gowri, was a very courageous lady who bravely fought through many serious medical encounters. When I was made to understand that she was receiving treatments I prayed for her immediate recovery. I was confident that she would pull through this episode too.
Unfortunately, she had to leave us at the time when we never expect her to do so.
In spite of failing health condition she dedicated her time to assist her clients specially those who needed her assistance. She was very fearless and took many risk in assisting
these clients who really needed her help. The state machinery was against some of these clients and for her appearance for these clients both and Gowry and Thava’s names were published in a ministry website as Lawyers assisting the terrorists.
Gowry, your untimely death was a great loss to our legal profession and to those who needed legal assistance when they were helpless.
May your soul rest in Peace!
